“Shim stock” is the generic name given to sheeted plastic and metal material.

Customers tend to buy material in this way when they require it for non-specific applications, they can then use it as and when they require, either cutting it to a rough shape for their needs or simply using it in sheets as a shimming material.

Our shim stock is colour coded to provide quick and easy recognition of thickness by colour, so no further need for measuring every shim to determine its thickness. For many applications, plastics can replace metal, with improved technology providing folding endurance, chemical resistance and tensile strength.

We can manufacture virtually any shape and size of shim or spacer using colour coded materials. Shims can be manufactured to your drawing and specification. Alternatively, send us a sample and we will measure and match to your requirement.

The minimum thickness of shim stock is an incredible 0.012mm (0.0005"). Thereafter sizes cover a complete range up to 1.5mm (0.060").

Shim stock is available with a thickness tolerance of +/- 5% up to 0.5mm and +/- 10% up to 1.5mm.
